Uber is launching flying cars in 2020. Watch the video. The company announced an on-demand fully electric vertical takeoff and landing flying car service that looks like it’s straight out of The Jetsons.

Facebook is competing with everyone. In the same week, the social network launched a new standalone app that directly competes with Foursquare and Yelp, while unveiling a new Messenger service that takes on startup darling Intercom for business communication.

Intercom CEO Eoghan McCabe shared his reaction on Product Hunt. It is now one of the most upvoted comments ever. Intercom is hiring.

Musically was just acquired for up to $1 billion (!!). The company has only been around for 3 years and has taken off with the teens and tweens, who use the app to make short lip-syncing videos.

The acquirer is Bytedance, maker of the popular Chinese news app Toutiao, which acquired Flipagram earlier this year, and recently raised money at a $20 billion valuation.

? Inclusivity in Crypto

Republic, a funding portal founded by AngelList alumni, announced Republic Crypto, a new line of products designed to bring much-needed accessibility and inclusivity to the blockchain space.

Republic’s platform, in partnership with CoinList, will enable crypto startups to raise money from investors of all income brackets, opening up compliant token sales to everyone – beyond just the 1%.

Superhuman is reinventing Gmail, and is backed by some of the most prominent Silicon Valley investors (including YC partner Paul Buchheit, who invented Gmail). The company is looking for an iOS engineer and has other open positions available. ⚡️

Robinhood, the zero-commission free stock trading app just announced a major milestone: 3 million traders. The Robinhood team is only at 100 and is hiring in multiple positions. ?

FiftyThree, makers of the sketching app Paper and award-winning digital stylus Pencil, is hiring for multiple senior engineering roles. ✏️
