Uber is launching flying cars in 2020. Watch the video. The company announced an on-demand fully electric vertical takeoff and landing flying car service that looks like it’s straight out of The Jetsons.

Facebook is competing with everyone. In the same week, the social network launched a new standalone app that directly competes with Foursquare and Yelp, while unveiling a new Messenger service that takes on startup darling Intercom for business communication.

The acquirer is Bytedance, maker of the popular Chinese news app Toutiao, which acquired Flipagram earlier this year, and recently raised money at a $20 billion valuation.

Republic, a funding portal founded by AngelList alumni, announced Republic Crypto, a new line of products designed to bring much-needed accessibility and inclusivity to the blockchain space.

Republic’s platform, in partnership with CoinList, will enable crypto startups to raise money from investors of all income brackets, opening up compliant token sales to everyone – beyond just the 1%.
